A b o u t . . . LSP

There are a good many people that would say ' Listening  ' is something well worth doing.

I would agree and add ~ I need to be clear that I mean Listening with more than our ears.

These days I understand the word listening to mean more than simply using my ears.

It is possible and very helpful in life, to listen with alot more than our sense of hearing.

As well as the five senses we all know well, we also have our body's sense of things.

This expands and enriches the quality, quantity and the subtle intricacy of information

available to us and allows us a fresh connection to something extraordinarily helpful ~

our instinct of ' rightness ' and our internal YES and NO.

This lets us sense what is most personal and meaningful to us and allows us to ' tap '

into the creative energy that can move our life forward, far more in tune with ourselves

as one whole system.

Listening through the Body is from where I am standing ~ 100 times more helpful

and effective than listening as we might usually understand the meaning of the word.

So . . . now I also need to explain what I mean by ' Body  '. I mean more than just the

physical body. I understand our heart, mind and physical body to all be connected as

one system, effectively. I would include myself in acknowledging that we all lead quite

fragmented lives, that do not lend themselves to living as though this were really true.

Body and Mind are impossible to seperate and their relationship remains mysterious.

No matter how much we learn about the brain, science can't tell us where our mind is.

The relationship between our body and it's immediate environment is also undeniable.

It does not fit to continue seeing ourselves as isolated individuals living seperate lives.

This site is intended to describe how this way of listening works ~ with exercises to try

so you can test the water and get a clear internal sense of whether this is right for you.

In a nutshell, it is the quality of relationship we all have that matters most in this context.

Whether that is with other people in everyday life or with ourselves and however much

we wish to explore what it is to be a human being alive today and ' all that is within us '.

If you would then like tuition in how to practice this for yourself or set up a partnership

with another person, please contact me ~Tom Binns, at:  info@LSP-Scotland.com

Primarily through 'Learning by Doing' ~ I offer time, attention and tuition to individuals

and small groups and run workshops, 8/10 wk courses and Arts projects in Scotland.

I have been trained to integrate therapeutic Art making into this way of Listening and

carry attitudes of curiosity, kindness and sincere playfulness  ~  particularly well suited

to Parents, Teachers, Carers and anyone working with or simply being with children.

If you want to form a supportive partnership, sharing some time and attention equally,

with another person, then I can offer a structure to guide you through your first steps.

This site does NOT offer advice for people to follow my way of doing things.

Most people quickly find their own unique way of fishing inside and make it their own.

While there is often an immediate shift  or a release of tension ~ this is not a quick fix

though this way of Listening supports any process of growth or change we engage in.

We are all standing on the shoulders of others and I am no different ~ I was fortunate

to meet the right people at the right moment, to help me learn a skill I still need today.

There is a good deal of research that supports the training I have received in Listening.

Though . . . I do not want to trade on my qualifications, or make any claims from them.

If anything here strikes a chord with you at all, or resonates in some way ~ then great !

Please ~ check everything out for yourself ! It is your  sense of Rightness that matters.

Any information in these pages remains subjective and guided by a bodily felt instinct.

It is by following my sense of Rightness  that I got here and have something to share:

a way to approach ourselves and whatever is happening in our life ~ inside and out.
